Disaster Preparedness for the 3rd grade

Third grade students listen to a disaster preparedness presentation from representatives from the American Red Cross. They learned about fire safety, where to meet their family members in the event of a fire, and the importance of fire detectors and making emergency plans in the event of a disaster. Disney has provided a pillow case for each student.
During Hurricane Katrina children had to leave their homes quickly. They used pillow cases to grab what they needed. During the course they learned to use their pillow case in the event of an Emergency.
